Friedrich Eduard Johannes Müller was born on November 24th, 1824 in Riedlingen, Germany. An area that was the
Kingdom of the Hohenzollern at that time.
It was shortly after Friedrich Mueller completed his apprenticeship as a brewer, that he was summoned by Prince Karl Anton, Duke of the Hohenzollern in Sigmaringen in 1849, to become the new brew master at the royal castle brewery
In 1854 Friedrich Eduard Johannes Müller emmigrated as a successful brewer with his wife and their new son
to America and settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is there that the long and successful history of the Miller Brewing Company (Miller Lite, Genuine Draft.. ) started.
The 500th anniversary of the German purity law marked the perfect moment for the Brauerei Zoller-Hof from Sigmaringen to produce this beer in loving memory to their "Brother in Brew"; a fantastic hand crafted amber lager that bridges German brewing excellence with new world brewing techniques and flavors. All in memory of what the original brewing diploma read: "By gracious permission of his royal highness".
